Veterinary Care and Health Standards
Kittens receive age appropriate veterinary care and are monitored closely for appetite, weight gain, hydration, stool quality, and overall condition. Each kitten is raised in a clean, supervised environment with daily handling and routine observation. Kittens leave for their new homes only when they are thriving, active, and eating well. A wellness record is provided so your veterinarian can continue care with a complete picture of your kitten’s early health history.
What the Guarantee Covers
A written Health Guarantee is provided for every kitten. The guarantee covers serious, life threatening congenital conditions that significantly affect quality of life. It also includes protection against contagious illness present before pickup, based on veterinary diagnosis and supporting documentation. Coverage details, timeframes, and the exact definition of covered conditions are listed in the written agreement you receive before final placement. This page offers general guidance, while the signed document remains the final reference for terms and coverage.
Your First Vet Visit Requirement
To keep the Health Guarantee active, the kitten must be examined by a licensed veterinarian within the timeframe stated in your agreement, commonly within 72 hours of pickup, excluding Sundays and major holidays. If your veterinarian identifies a health concern, notify us immediately and provide written documentation from the clinic. Early evaluation protects your kitten and creates a clear medical record from the start. Delaying the first visit may limit options and can void the guarantee if the required timeline is missed.
What Is Not Covered
The Health Guarantee does not cover issues caused by neglect, injury, poisoning, unsafe housing, or failure to follow basic care standards. It also does not cover minor, easily treated conditions, stress related digestive upset during transition, or routine parasites that can occur despite careful prevention. Costs related to normal kitten care such as vaccines, deworming, spay or neuter, grooming, and regular wellness exams are the owner’s responsibility. Cosmetic traits and adult size expectations are not guaranteed.
Care Expectations and Support
A healthy start continues at home. Feed a quality diet, provide fresh water, keep the litter box clean, and maintain a safe indoor environment. Regular grooming supports coat health and reduces hairballs, especially for Maine Coons with thicker coats. Avoid introducing new pets too quickly, and limit exposure to unfamiliar animals until your veterinarian confirms vaccinations are on schedule. Questions are welcome before and after pickup, because good support reduces stress and helps kittens thrive.
Resolution Options
If a covered condition is confirmed within the guarantee period, resolution options are outlined in the written agreement and may include replacement consideration or another remedy defined in the contract. Veterinary documentation is required, and communication must happen promptly so we can guide next steps. The goal is fairness, clarity, and the wellbeing of the kitten, with a process that respects both the family and the breeder.
